My Boutique Style Closet Update: Chic Closet Ideas

Take a look at my boutique style closet plus a life lesson for you!

So one day like usual, I was up and prepared to film one of my YouTube videos. The video was going to be an outfits video which required me to rummage through my wardrobes to pull some looks for said video. I was preparing myself like I normally do. I did my hair and makeup. Then the next thing I know, I heard a huge thump coming from the direction of my studio/closet. I already knew what happened before I even ran in that direction. My old rails that I had in my closet were holding on for dear life. It was just a matter of time before they would collapse and so they did. Either I needed some sort of sturdier closet system, or it was time to get rid of some clothes. Of course you know I didn’t go with the latter. So of course my video was a no go for that day, and I was off to find some sort of solution besides keeping my clothes piled high on the floor.

My first and only stop was to Target because that is where you go when you’re looking for something you don’t need. I’m not quite sure what I was looking for, but I knew that I needed a quick fix to my problem. I had still intended to film my video that day. I was determined to get it done. Well, as you know, things don’t always go to plan. Anyway, I came across a few closet systems that I thought would work for me. I picked out the best ones for my budget and was on my way to fix this problem so I could get to filming. Well what I thought would take me only a couple of hours, ended up taking me an entire afternoon and well into the night. I didn’t know what I was in for when I embarked on this task, but I was ecstatic with the finished results. I had transformed my office/closet space into a boutique. Mind you, I had no plan and no intentions on doing anything remotely close to what I did. When I walk into that space now, I feel like I’m shopping in a boutique. It makes finding an outfit to wear so much more enjoyable now. I may only be finding outfits to film for a video, but it’s still a joy nevertheless especially for someone who’s into fashion like myself.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sometimes in life, things have to fall apart in order to come together. I was totally frustrated when my closet fell to the floor. It changed my plans for that day. I was thinking some really crazy thoughts as I sat there in my closet trying to figure out what to do. I even tried to put the old rails together again, and they just kept falling. I thought to myself, maybe this is a sign that I need to quit YouTube. I was going to quit something I was passionate about all because of a little hiccup. I dusted myself off and went to find a real solution to my problem The solution is that things sometimes have to fall in order for something greater to be built. Like I said, I didn’t know what I was going to do, but it’s like it just came together and became something better than I ever could have imagined. If it seems like your life is falling apart right now, think to yourself, is this in preparation for something much better to come in my life. Don’t quit, and don’t give up. You’ll be happy with the finished product whether it be internally or externally.

Take a look at the finished product down below.  Links to the closet system and rails will be down below. Also, just a reminder to turn your space or your life into something you will enjoy and love.

My sweaters, cardigans, and coats as well as lounge wear are arranged here. I had to fold some on my chunkier knit sweaters.

I purchased a total of four of these closet systems. With the help of my supportive family, it took me about 5 hours total to build. I’m still sore and aching from all that hard labor!!! It was rather simple to put together. Just make sure you have plenty of patience and block out some time to build it.

I love how I can display my shoes and handbags now.
My dresses are to the right. I love how I can display my shoes and boots. I even have room to add more!!!
This section is old. The dresser was actually my daughters. I didn’t want to get rid of it, so I repurposed it. The white cabinet is from Ikea.

I keep some of my jewelry and books displayed on the dresser. I did have my jewelry displayed in my bathroom. I thought it would be fitting to have it displayed in my closet now. I love the look of it here better.

The rail on the right is also from Target as well. I got it a while ago. I keep new items on there that I need to film.

I love the way it all came together. It looks more organized and just over all esthetically pleasing to the eye don’t you think! Let me know your thoughts down below. This space is still a work in progress so stay tuned as I add more decor to my dream office/closet.
