Winter fashion doesn’t have to just involve dark, dreary, and boring ensembles. Most think that during the winter months you should only dress in neutral tones like black, gray, brown, camel, and cream. I say wear what you want, stay true to who you are, and have a little fun with it! I love to dress up because rarely am I able because of my profession. So on my off days I enjoy playing around with my wardrobe and putting together outfits that are stylish and fun. One easy way to add some spice to your outfit selection is to add pops of color incorporated into your neutral color palette. In this outfit post, I’ve done just that. Here I have chosen brown and white as my base colors and added a pop of pink to make the outfit more interesting. I like to call this outfit a scoop of neapolitan because when I first put this look together, I immediately thought of neapolitan ice cream. My daughter is constantly asking for ice cream even in the winter so I thought this outfit was perfect for depicting her favorite snack. As a matter of fact, I wore this outfit to her Christmas party at her school. When she saw me, she said “mom I love your outfit.” She’s a fashion lover too!
First I’ve chosen this pink sweater that I recently purchased from Mango. I had been seeing all over Instagram fashion bloggers wearing neon which is a huge trend this winter season. It’s really soft and chunky, however, you will definitely need to wear a layer underneath to stay warm. It was really affordable which is perfect considering I would deem it a statement piece that I wouldn’t wear regularly.
Next I have simple white skinny jeans that I purchased from Fashion Nova a few years ago. They have kept up pretty well wash after wash. That’s pretty impressive for me because I’m really clumsy and spill things frequently.
For shoes, I’ve chosen these snake print cowboy boots that I recently purchased from Zara. I absolutely love these boots, and animal print is also on trend this season. I haven’t had a chance to wear these boots as much this season, but these boots will definitely be in my wardrobe for years to come.
Then I put on this chocolate-brown fedora hat that I recently purchased from ASOS. I found it in the men’s section purposely because my head is huge and it’s very difficult for me to find a hat big enough to fit my insanely large cranium. I love to accessorize my outfits with hats and this particular one did the job.
Lastly, this brown coat is to die for. I’ve been waiting for a few months for this coat to come back in stock at Zara. When it finally did, I quickly put it in my basket and checked out before it went out of stock again. It wasn’t the most affordable piece, but I will have it in my wardrobe for years to come. I’ve never had a chocolate brown long coat so this filled a missing piece in my collection. For jewelry I kept it simple by layering two dainty necklaces that I purchased from Forever 21 last year.
Well there you have it. Tell me how you like to add a bit of extra detail to your outfit. Let’s be extra together girl!!! 😃
