FASHION TREND ALERT: LOAFERS

So my new favorite shoe obsession at the moment are loafers. I don’t know why or when this came upon me, but I’m glad it did. I’m a shoe girl for sure and never really saw loafers as trendy. To me they have always been classic and timeless shoe options. The obsession started with the chunky loafers. I purchased a few from my favorite retailer Zara in a black option and absolutely fell in love with them. Not only are loafers comfortable and practical, but they are just those type of shoes that can be worn with any outfit for any occasion. Whether it be a date night or work day, loafers are just that go to shoe.

They also fit in with that old money style which is another obsession of mine. People of status have been wearing them for years which is why I’ve never seen loafers as trendy. Loafers have been around the block a time or two and will probably never go out of style in my opinion. Which is why I think they are just wardrobe staples that everyone should invest in for any season. They are seasonless and look phenomenal on men and women. My 10 year old daughter even takes it upon herself to sneak and wear a pair of my white chunky loafers.

They are also very versatile. They can be styled with jeans, trousers, dresses, skirts, and the list goes on. You can wear them with edgy looks as well as classy and sophisticated attire. Put on a blazer, jeans, and a nice pair of loafers for a casual date night. Pop on a slip skirt with a light knit sweater and some chunky loafers for a brunch date with the girls. They really are a go to for comfort and practicality.
