Lately I’ve been obsessed with the color brown. I’ve been purchasing several items that incorporate this rich tone as well. I’ve never been one to gravitate towards the color brown. I guess I thought I really couldn’t pull it off in a look. The obsession started last fall season of 2018. I had been seeing this tone pop up all over instagram and blogger feeds. I thought to myself, I wonder if I could pull off this color. My favorite would have to be shades of chocolate and caramel. I just love the richness of the those hues especially considering chocolate and caramel are my favorite flavors.
I get a 70s and retro vibe whenever I wear this color trend which is the very look that I have been going for this fall and winter season. Brown is definitely the new black for me. It’s the perfect neutral to pair with just about any other color in your wardrobe. I love pairing it with other neutral colors as well like beige, black, and cream. It’s just another way to look more expensive and put together.
I have been especially loving it in faux fur. I purchased this faux fur two years ago and have yet to wear it because I couldn’t think of any way to style it and not look like I’m doing the absolute most. So when brown started trending, I thought well now is as good a time as any to pull out this coat and rock it. It is very dressy, but pairing it with jeans brings it down to more of a casual look. I added some leopard print boots that I purchased from asos.com as well as a leopard print oversized scarf from mango.
I purchased this dress from one of my favorite retailers Mango. When I saw it online, I knew I had to add it to my collection. This tone of brown is lovely and I feel so sophisticated in this light weight dress. I wore it on a day that the weather was nice and mild so it was the perfect outfit of the day. I paired it with these knee high boots that I purchased from Zara. Together they make for the perfect brown on brown combination. I added a pop of color with these turquoise bracelets to add some visual interest.
The color brown is definitely a trend that I will be incorporating into the up and coming spring and summer season. This color looks absolutely amazing on my skin tone if I do say so myself. In fact, brown would look amazing on just about any skin tone. The styling possibilities are just endless.
