Holy Grail Concealers for Dark Circles for Women of Color

Concealers for women of color

Got dark circles? Tired of looking like you just woke up even though you’ve been awake for hours? Been there, done that, could write the blog post about it. Actually, that’s what I’m doing right now! Dark circles are just the absolute worst. Some women are born with it, and some just have them due to lack of sleep. As women, we’re constantly on the move whether it be taking care of our children or working those long hours to help keep the family afloat. Sleep deprivation is unfortunately a part of a busy woman’s life.

So to help hide those stubborn dark circles, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite or holy grail concealers at the moment. Specifically, these are concealers that I’d recommend especially for women of color since our dark circles tend to be the worst because of our beautiful melanin. I’ve been incorporating several of these concealers in my makeup application for some years now. So let’s talk about them!!!

Milani Conceal + Perfect Longwear Concealer

This concealer is a new one in my collection. It has quickly become my favorite. Milani is not really a brand I use often, but I think I’m hooked. It has a creamy texture and is not too thick. It also blends flawlessly. Another plus is that it’s from the drug store, so you know it’s affordable. I’m all for products that will give me my desired look without breaking my pockets.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

I can’t mention holy grail concealers without mentioning Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I’ve been using this concealer for several years now. Every time I try a different concealer, I always end up coming back to this one. It’s also creamy as the name suggests, and blends flawlessly. This concealer is my go to for minimal makeup looks.

Tarte Shape Tape

Tarte shape tape is another fabulous concealer to use for minimal makeup looks. I tend to apply it to not only my dark circles, but I also apply it to blemishes so that I don’t have to apply foundation. It is a little thicker than the previous two concealers, but a small amount is all you need. It is also creamy and blends into your skin easily. Just don’t leave it on for too long. Blend it in as soon as you apply it.

L.A. Girl HD Pro Concealer

L.A. Girl Pro Concealer is an oldie but goodie concealer that I’ve been using for years. I don’t hear too many people talking about this concealer anymore, but it still provides great coverage for stubborn dark under eye circles. I feel like this one got lost in the sauce with all the newer ones that have come out over the years. However, I don’t believe in not using something just because it’s no longer popular or trendy. It is just as effective now as it was then. The best thing too is that it’s a drug store concealer, so it’s affordable. So if you’re on a budget, this one’s for you. It’s also easy to blend and creamy. Don’t sleep on L.A. Girl ladies!!!

All right ladies. There you have it. These are my holy grail concealers for dark circles for women of color. If you’ve been looking for a perfect concealer to hide your dark circles, then these options will do you no wrong. If you look in the mirror and say, gosh I look tired and sleepy, then try one of these concealers to help you look more alive and awake. You’re already beautiful, but it doesn’t hurt to add to your beauty or conceal that tiny imperfection. My dark circles make me look like I haven’t slept in days. So when I apply one of my holy grails, I’m no longer self conscious about my appearance.

Getting plenty of rest or sleep is also key to combating those dark circles. If you can, make sure you get at least 6-8 hours of sleep a night or day if you work at night. I know that is easier said than done, but try to make your health and wellness a priority. I’ve noticed my dark circles improve since making it my mission to get that 6-8 hours a night. Do what you can to improve your dark circles if you see them as a problem, and then utilize my top picks to help with the rest! Always remember, you are beautifully made and extraordinarily powerful queen!
