My Skin Care Routine
Something that I take pride in is my skin care. I’ve had a skin care routine for as long as I can remember. Good skin care starts from within with staying hydrated with good ol’ H2O, but there are a few products that I’ve been using religiously over the past year or so. I don’t tend to change up my products because as the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Let me begin with what I use first in my skin care routine.
1. Glam Glow Supercleanse Clearing Cream to Foam Cleanser
So let me start by letting you know what this product claims to do. Supercleanse is a pore refining triple-charcoal boost! Glam glows most advanced clearing cream-to-foam cleaner, now with a powerful blend of three charcoals to detoxify and absorb a range of impurities from the skin. Infused with Teaox Eucalyptus Leaf, Mediterranean Clay, and a special blend of bamboo, ubame wood, and coconut charcoals, this formula clarifies and helps remove pore-clogging debris, excess oil, and face makeup, while leaving skin feeling soothed, soft, and sexy. Whew, that’s a lot. Now these are claims straight from the company and not my own. However, I would say I agree with the claims which is why even after I switch products, I still find myself going back to this cleanser. Now let me tell you how I use it.
So every morning and night, this is the first product I reach for in my routine. I apply a small amount to my face, and then I wet my brush and cleanse my face in circular motions for a couple of minutes or at least until I’m satisfied with the results. You will notice after you apply it that it has the consistency of a thick mud mask, but once it’s mixed with water, it turns into a foam. Then I towel dry my face and on to the next step. It’s just that simple. I purchased this product from my local Sephora.
2. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner
Now let me talk about the next step in my routine which is the toner step. So here is what this toner claims to do. It claims to soften the skin and refine the appearance of pores for a healthy-looking complexion. It’s infused with real rose petals. The gentle formula cleanses the skin, helping to clear it of surface debris, pollution particles, and residual impurities while leaving it feeling refreshed and prepped to receive the full benefits of the skincare ritual to follow. Ok so I have to say I also agree with those claims. To apply this product I use a cotton round and saturate it with the toner. Then I gently rub it into my skin in circular motions. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed. Most toners I’ve used before left my skin feeling like it is on fire. I would highly recommend this toner if you don’t already have one in your current routine or are just looking to try out a different one. I purchased this particular one from Sephora.
3. No 7 Lift and Luminate Triple Action Serum
The next step in my routine involves this amazing serum. Let’s start with the claims. So this product delivers 3 clinically proven results: 89% showed a visible reduction in wrinkle, 92% had improved firmness, and 77% had a more even skin tone. It is hypoallergenic. It is powered by Matrixyl 3000 Plus, their most effective anti-wrinkle peptide technology; Hyaluronic Acid & Hibiscus, an advanced firming complex; and a unique pigmentation complex with Vitamin C. I would further like to add that the product is also light-weight and non-greasy which is a must for me considering I have oily skin. You only need a small amount to apply which is great considering there is not much product in the tube. So use sparingly. This product was a recommendation from a co-worker of mine, and I must say I really love it. I purchased mine from Target, but you can find it at any local drug store I’m sure.
4. No 7 Lift and Luminate Triple Action Eye Cream
The final step in my skin care routine is the No 7 eye cream. This product claims to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone, lift and firm the look around the eyes for a younger more luminous looking skin in just 4 weeks. With continued use, the appearance of dark circles is reduced, and under eye puffiness and eye bags are less visible. After 8 weeks, 83% of women agreed their eyes looked brighter. I work at night so my eyes constantly look tired just because I always am, but I can say it has reduced the lines around my eye area slightly. At this point, I’m using this product as sort of maintenance to keep my fine lines and wrinkles in check. So after I apply the serum, I apply the eye cream. I apply one small dot under my eyes and gently massage it in with my fingers. I purchased this product from Target as well, but I’m sure you can purchase it from any drug store or online.
So all these products have one thing in common and that’s to reduce wrinkles and fine lines and to keep your skin looking youthful. As a mature woman in my late 30s, it is important for me to keep my youth as long as I can. Aging is imminent, but there are a few things we can do to fight those nasty signs of aging. Skin care is just one way. If you don’t have a skin care routine and you’re in your 20s or 30s, I would recommend you start. It’s never too early or too late to start, however, the earlier you start the better. Let me know in the comments some of your holy grail products that you use in your skin care routine. I would love to know!!!! If you would like to try any of the products mentioned be sure to click on the images on the sidebar.
